A new Zelle scam is catching a lot of people off guard. It starts when you suddenly receive a Zelle payment from someone you don't know. Minutes later, you get a call or text saying the payment was sent by mistake and asking you to send the money back. It sounds like an honest mistake. Sometimes the person sounds embarrassed, stressed, or even desperate. But this is often a carefully planned scam designed to trick you into sending money to a criminal.
